Projects in the future package for exercise, culture and health
In the future package for exercise, culture and health, numerous projects have been implemented or are still in the implementation phase. The majority of all projects were voted on by young people up to and including the age of 26, who voted for a total of over €150,000. Idea 1 – Long Night of the Fire Brigade – Design an attractive meeting place
Who: Grafenreuth youth fire department
What: Various activities were organized for children and young people at and in the Grafenreuth village hall as part of the “Long Night of the Fire Brigade”. The aim was to create the opportunity to come together in the village community center and exchange ideas across the generations. The place should continue to be an appealing place for (young) people and a place of exchange. As part of this, a table football table, an air field hockey table and some board games were purchased. In addition, beanbags were purchased for cozy get-togethers and a complete youth area was set up in the community center.
Idea 2 – Football pitch revitalization in Niederlamitz
Who: Group of children from Niederlamitz
What: The local football pitch in Niederlamitz has been restored and turned into a meeting place for young people. A group of children and young people worked together with parents and friends over many weeks to restore the football pitch. A small hut was also built, which serves as a meeting place in bad weather and can also be used to store various items. The football pitch was fitted with new turf, which will now make it possible to play soccer in the coming years. The group also built their own boards, which were sprayed by the children themselves during a graffiti workshop. The highlight was a big fun tournament to inaugurate the football pitch.
Idea 3 – Drums alive!
Who: Ludwig
What: Ludwig was keen to bring people with and without disabilities together. This was to be achieved primarily through movement activities and rehearsing various choreographies. The “Drums Alive” workshops were born. With the help of Pezziballs, a choreography was developed and practiced with people who work in the Lebenshilfe workshop. The workshops and the performances on various occasions were intended to sensitize people to offer people with disabilities diverse access opportunities and promote a more inclusive community.
Idea 4 – Reicholdsgrün – We come together!
Who: Group of children from Reicholdsgrün
What: A group of children from Reicholdsgrün wanted to promote and expand socializing between the young people of Reicholdsgrün. After the pandemic, the children complained that even in a small village, people spent little time together and hardly knew each other. For this reason, a series of activities were organized to help them get to know each other again. Various activities were organized for this purpose. The group went to the Plohn amusement park together, organized evenings together to prepare a village buffet, a foam party and a tree planting campaign. The JuKu-Mobil was also there with a graffiti campaign. All of these activities helped the children in the village of Reicholdsgrün to reconnect after the pandemic-related social distancing rules and strengthen their sense of community.
Idee 5 – Church in the Ruins
Who: CVJM Weißenstadt
What: The “Church in the Ruins” event took place on June 17, 2023 in the Kurpark in Weißenstadt. “Church in the Ruins” is a one-day event that invited young people as well as families, children and adults to spend an afternoon and evening together. There were various activities for young people on the day. From a bouncy castle for the little ones, to various stalls with food and drinks, to different playful and cultural highlights. The core program was an open church service / church party. Live music was provided by the band “Levit-Band”. Anyone could take part in the festival, regardless of their denomination.
Idea 6 – Hebanzer bees get gardening!
Who: Hebanzer bee
What: The children’s and youth group of the Hebanz fruit and gardening association wanted to make their central meeting place, an open space next to the village community hall, more attractive. The focus was on nature and the environment. The area is an important meeting place for the group, where the association regularly holds events for children and young people. A major concern was the construction of a wooden house, so that the children can create their own retreat that can be designed according to their own ideas. At the same time, garden tools for the Hebanzer Bienchen activities are to be safely stored here. The garden is also to be equipped with raised beds, a snack teepee and a water play wall.
Idea 7 – Outdoor station for the Vorwerk youth center
Who: Vorwerk youth center
What: A public, largely self-managed meeting place for young people was built in the Vorwerk district of Selb. This was set up right next to the football pitch. The covered seating areas are to be filled with life in the future with various activities and formats. Various materials and objects were also purchased for this purpose, such as an electricity generator to facilitate such events. The space is also intended to become a place of exchange between the different generations and groups of people in the Vorwerk district. An opening party with a football tournament was held, to which the entire neighborhood was also invited.
Idea 8 – Making associations visible – film project in Wunsiedel// Canceled
Who: Youth representation Wunsiedel
What: The youth representatives of the town of Wunsiedel wanted to make voluntary work more visible and, above all, get young people interested in clubs and initiatives. The project was to be pursued within a film project in which the young people themselves were to be enabled to get to know the world of film production better. The Wunsiedel Youth Council has done some preliminary work on this, but the workshops have not met with any interest. The group discussed the situation accordingly and came to the conclusion to cancel the project in order to release the funds again.
Idea 9 – DJ workshop at the Vorwerk youth club
Who: Vorwerk youth center
What: The house council of the Vorwerk youth club wanted to organize a DJ workshop and corresponding equipment for the youth club. To this end, a professional DJ offered insights into the technology over several days and passed on his know-how at the DJ table. The newly acquired skills were then presented at several final parties at the youth club. The young people also want to continue to make the technology and knowledge available to interested parties so that as many people as possible can benefit from the project. The technology is also largely mobile, so that the youth club can also use the equipment at other locations, such as the meeting point at the football pitch.
Idea 10 – Hula Hoop course in Weißenstadt
Who: Marcel with the “Vier Elemente” after-school club
What: Marcel organizes regular hula hoop courses with the children and other interested parties in Weißenstadt. This gave the children a playful approach to exercise and the focus was on having fun. In the future, there will be several events, including public ones, where anyone who is interested can take part.
Idea 11 – Band rehearsal room in the Wunsiedel youth center
Who: Florian
What: The Wunsiedel Youth Center has created a band rehearsal room for all young people who are interested in music. It doesn’t matter whether you are already an experienced musician or a complete novice. The equipment in the band rehearsal room makes this possible, as instruments are already available and you can also bring your own instruments. The room aims to inspire young people to make music themselves. The rehearsal room is open during the youth center’s opening hours.
Idea 12 – Boxing & fitness at Werk 10
Who: Young people from Werk 10
What: The youth center in Marktredwitz has set up a boxing and fitness corner. Some visitors were already very interested in boxing beforehand. They wanted to make this enthusiasm accessible independently of a club so that young people can try it out with the right equipment and guidance. Another aim is to promote the physical and mental health of young people by reducing stress through exercise.
Idea 13 – Playground in Leutenberg
Who: Children from the Leutenberg village community
What: A group of children from the Leutenberg village community wanted to make the local playground more attractive for themselves and future generations. To this end, new playground equipment was selected and inaugurated together with committed members of the village community at a joint playground party.
Idea 14 – Wunstock – Festival
Who: Wunstock e.V.
What: The Wunstock Festival has been taking place in Wunsiedel for many decades. The event is organized by Wunstock e.V., an association that primarily organizes festivals and concerts. The music festival aims to be accessible to everyone. Admission is based on donations, so that people regardless of income can also take part in the festival. This year’s festival took place on September 8 and 9, with a large number of bands, some of whom came from the neighboring Czech Republic. Around 500 – 600 people attended on both days, especially young people under the age of 27.
Idea 15 – Youth meeting place in Thierstein
Who: Thierstein youth fire department
What: The Thierstein youth fire department built a more attractive meeting place for young people in the community, especially for leisure activities. Various purchases are still planned, which will be available for open events for young people in Thierstein. For example, the youth fire department would like to purchase a fire bowl. Another key project is to build a footbridge in the local pond.
Idea 16 – Recording studio in Werk 10
Who: René and other young people from Werk 10
What: An available room in the Marktredwitz “Werk 10” youth center was converted into a recording studio with professional advice. The aim is to ensure that young people in the district have the opportunity to make high-quality voice, sound and music recordings. Markus Plietsch taught the technical know-how in several workshops so that the technology can be used safely and correctly.
Idea 17 – Pimp your Petzelweiher
Who: Luna
What: The Petzelweiher pond in Tröstau is a popular meeting place for young and old. Children and young people from Tröstau wanted to make this place a more youth-friendly and attractive place. This includes a pumping station for the water playground, an outdoor table football table and a table tennis table with appropriate equipment. The new equipment will be inaugurated at a joint celebration on November 4 with a culinary buffet.
Idea 18 – Youth room upgrade
Who: Youth club Brand
What: The children and young people at the Brand youth club have long been committed to exercise, sport and dance. With gymnastics mats, amplifier boxes and disco balls, the youth club’s equipment has been expanded to make specific activities easier and more spontaneous. A table tennis table was also purchased to provide additional sports and exercise facilities. In addition, some beanbags were purchased to make the relaxation phases as comfortable as possible.
Idea 19 – Realx & Chill meeting place in Kleinwendern
Who: Linn
What: With the help of friends and parents in Kleinwendern, Linn has built self-made relaxation loungers. The aim is to create a meeting place in the village in future that invites children and young people to relax and sit together. The children and young people were able to actively help with the construction of the furniture and build great furniture under supervision.
Idea 20 – Festival of diversity on 21.11.2023
Who: Wunsiedel Youth Council
What: People from very different countries live in Wunsiedel. The Wunsiedel Youth Council has set itself the goal of bringing people from different countries together, bringing the different cultures closer together and providing an insight into them. On November 21, the Festival of Diversity will take place in the SWW canteen, where around 15 nations will present traditional food, dances and music that are typical of their respective countries. The aim is to break down reservations and highlight the curiosity and variety that diversity brings.
Idea 21 – Swimming trip for all
Who: DLRG Selb
What: For various reasons, it is not possible for some children and young people to visit a larger “fun and leisure pool”. In these pools, it is possible for young people to find pleasure and fun in water and to increase their motivation for water sports. The DLRG Selb has organized an excursion to give children and young people the opportunity to experience such a day free of charge. They organized the arrival and departure and a corresponding stay with trained youth leaders who ensured a safe visit to the swimming pool.
Idea 22 – Caravan meeting point
Who: Youth group from Kirchenlamitz
What: A group of young people managed to organize the purchase of a caravan that was no longer needed but still intact from a local caravan park operator. The caravan will be given a permanent place near the site, but will be accessible to the public. The caravan is currently being converted so that it can be used as a meeting place for young people from Kirchenlamitz. An outdoor area is also being designed so that it becomes a rest area for walkers/hikers/…. This will probably include a small fireplace and seating.
Idea 23 – Safe Place
Who: Luise with the work 10
What: Luise is currently setting up a special room in the Marktredwitz youth center that will be a place of refuge and support for visitors. A “safe place”. In moments of excessive demands, stress or strain, the room will offer opportunities to calm down, exchange ideas and provide tools for coping. This includes an appropriately relaxed atmosphere and furnishings that enhance the previously rather cool space. The room will also be equipped with books and games on relevant, youth-related topics that young people can use away from observers from the open area. In the future, the room will also offer space for one-to-one discussions between professionals and young people.
The Future Package for Physical Activity, Culture and Health is a program of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). It is implemented by the Gesellschaft für soziale Unternehmensberatung (gsub) and the SPI Foundation. The German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) is responsible for the “Children and Youth Participation in the Future Package” part of the program.
