My most beautiful fichtel spot
In July 2020, the Fichtelgebirge was named “Bavaria’s most beautiful spot”. In order to show as many beautiful spots in the Fichtelgebirge as possible, the photo campaign “My most beautiful Fichtel spot” was launched last year in the form of a participatory process to highlight the advantages and strengths of the region in the form of great landscape pictures from the Fichtelgebirge and make them visible to everyone.
Due to the great positive response, another participation process – the “My most beautiful fichtel-spot – Winter Special” – was launched as a photo campaign on January 18, 2021, in which citizens were called upon to post their most beautiful winter spots in the Fichtelgebirge under the hashtag #meinschönsterfichtelfleck. By February 28, 2021, 129 photos showing the most beautiful spots in the snow-covered Fichtelgebirge had been submitted.
Traveling exhibition #my most beautiful fichtel spot
The photo campaign resulted in a touring exhibition for the Fichtelgebirge, consisting of 13 pictures by 10 photographers and 13 matching descriptive signs, designed to sensitize citizens in the Fichtelgebirge to the beauty of their homeland on their own doorstep, independently of the previous photo campaign. The traveling exhibition is currently touring the Fichtelgebirge.
Postcards

As the pictures of the campaign are very popular, there are also postcards with the #meinschönsterfichtelfleck motifs as well as postcards on the theme of Heimatliebe Fichtelgebirge. These are also available as give-aways at the traveling exhibitions.

Fichtelroom in the Outlet Center Selb
A piece of the Fichtelgebirge in the Outlet Center Selb: In cooperation with the Outlet Center Selb and other regional partners, the #freiraumfürmacher team has opened a Fichtelraum in the Outlet Center Selb. The so-called “Fichtelraum”, which is located in the furnace hall, will offer visitors from all over Germany and beyond the opportunity to find out about vacations and life in our region at their leisure for a few months.
Each week, a different partner will fill the space with life. Exceptional start-ups and established companies that represent the creative entrepreneurial spirit of the Fichtelgebirge will present their great products and services in our “Fichtelraum”. A varied program is offered from week to week.
