Kneipp cycle route Fichtelgebirge
Kneipp’s health teachings in the Fichtelgebirge:
A healthy soul only lives in a healthy body
Kneipp’s natural healing methods are an integral part of naturopathy and are used in many areas. The main focus is on maintaining health, i.e. prevention, and the interaction of body and mind.
The start and finish is the “Kneipp facility at the Vitalscheune” in Wunsiedel. From here, the route follows secondary roads (asphalt) via Bibersbach to Röslau to the Zwölfgipfelblick. We recommend taking your first break here to take in the fantastic panoramic view of the Fichtegebirge. The route continues on side roads (forest and woodland paths, water-based road surface) via Dürnberg, Neudorf, Neumühl, Eckenmühle and Raumetengrün to Kirchenlamitz. The route then follows the “Kirchenlamitz – Weißenstadt cycle path” (water-based path surface) along the foot of the Epprechtsein, past the granite labyrinth to the Kneipp oasis at the Bongosisstollen. Treat yourself to a short break and enjoy the refreshing coolness of the Schloppenbach stream. Continuing along the cycle path, the next stop is the “Kneipp basin in the historic spa gardens” in Weißenstadt. Here, too, you can enjoy a refreshing dip and take a longer break on the loungers or sunbathing lawns by the lake. Afterwards, well rested, the route continues via Meierhof, Vordorf | Vordorfermühle, Leupoldsdorf | Leupoldsdorferhammer, Tröstau, Wurmloh and Mühlbühl (a section on a district road, cycle and forest paths, water-treated path surface) to the “Kneipp facility at Nageler See”, where the next refreshment awaits. After cooling down, the next section starts in the direction of Bad Alexandersbad. The trail leads back to Mühlbühl and from there to Reichenbach (forest paths) via Hohnbrand to the “Natur-Kneipp basin in the historic spa gardens” of Bad Alexandersbad. Finally, forest and land consolidation paths lead you via Dünkelhammer to Katharinenberg with the Birds of Prey Park in Wunsiedel and back on the road to the starting point.
