What is the fichtelflexi?

The fichtelflexi is a new mobility service and the perfect complement to the bus and train lines in the district of Wunsiedel i. Fichtelgebirge. Unlike these, there is no fixed timetable; the flexi stops at exactly the stops you book. You can use the app or call us on 09232/80-789 to let us know your travel requirements. A minibus will then take you from A to B. To ensure that the carbon footprint is right, additional passengers on your route can be taken along as companions.

One journey costs 3 euros, regardless of the route.

What are the advantages?

One click in the app or a phone call is all it takes to be mobile after a short wait.

You might meet new people in the fichtelflexi that you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

How much is the fare?

Each journey costs 3 euros per passenger. Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Severely disabled persons with ID and a corresponding token can also travel free of charge.

School tickets cannot be accepted.

Where is the fichtelflexi available?

The fichtelflexi runs in the municipality of Schönwald and the town of Selb.

Why do I have to be on time? Can’t the fichtelflexi wait for me?

Please be considerate of other passengers who also want to reach their destination as quickly as possible. To ensure this, the fichtelflexi will not wait for passengers who do not arrive at the stop on time.

At what age can I open an account with fichtelflexi?

To open an account for the fichtelflexi, you must be 18 years of age or older (18th birthday). You can of course use our service earlier, but the booking must be made via an existing account.

  1. The bus stops are located in such a way that the bus can continue its journey quickly.
  2. The approval for the fichtelflexi was linked to the condition that stops had to be made.
  3. The distance between the stops is so short that no long walks are necessary.

Can I take animals with me?

Unfortunately, animals are not permitted in the fichtelflexi. We do, of course, make an exception for assistance animals, e.g. guide dogs.

Where can I go?

With the fichtelflexi you can travel within the municipality of Schönwald and the town of Selb and also between the municipalities. All districts are included.

Can I book the fichtelflexi without downloading the app?

Yes, the fichtelflexi can also be booked by telephone. There are no additional costs for this. The telephone switchboard is manned from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be reached on 09232/80-789. Please have the start and destination address ready for the booking.

How does payment work?

The price is shown in the app when booking. Currently, the fare must be paid in cash to the driver.

When is the fichtelflexi available?

The fichtelflexi runs daily between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. in the connected municipalities, including weekends and public holidays.

How do I book a trip?
  1. After downloading the app, you need to register once with your name and e-mail address.
  2. In the next step, enter your starting point and destination.
  3. Select additional passengers if you wish.
  4. After checking the suggested route, click on “Book and pay” or tap on “Plan journey” to be picked up or dropped off at a specific time.
  5. The app will then guide you to the pick-up stop, where a fichtelflexi bus stop sign will be displayed. Look out for the upcoming fichtelflexi there. After booking, the name of the driver and the license plate number of the vehicle will appear in the app. The app will also show you the route your vehicle will take in real time and its estimated time of arrival.

Alternatively, you can of course also make a telephone booking. Unfortunately, we will then not be able to guide you to the stop or provide you with real-time information.

Kann während der Fahrt das Ziel geändert werden?

No. We plan our journeys so that several passengers can be taken along if possible. They also want to get to their destination as quickly as possible.

Can the destination be changed during the journey?

The journey can be canceled in the app after booking. The number of journeys you have booked is displayed at the top right of the map screen. After tapping on the number, you can see the journeys in detail and cancel them by clicking on Cancel journey.

Why do I have to specify the number of passengers when booking?

To protect the climate, we try to bundle as many trips as possible. But we don’t leave anyone standing. Our system therefore requires the number of passengers in order to be able to plan journeys as efficiently as possible.

Will the booking be canceled if I close the app?

No. Don’t worry, you can continue to use your cell phone as usual. The next time you open the app, you will see the current position of the vehicle.

How does advance booking work?

After entering the destination, you can book a departure or arrival time using the “Plan journey” button. The activated option is underlined and can be changed by clicking on the name. After booking, you will receive a confirmation of the journey.
