The district of Wunsiedel i. Fichtelgebirge has made a strong commitment to modern and flexible mobility in the region and, as a result, several car sharing vehicles from the provider mikar are now available to all registered citizens and tourists.

The vehicles are station-based, i.e. collection and return take place at the same location.

At which locations can I hire the vehicles?

The mikar cars are station-bound and can be borrowed at the locations in Selb, Marktredwitz, Wunsiedel, Weißenstadt and Kirchenlamitz and parked there again after use.

Which vehicles are available?

Marktredwitz – Pendlerparkplatz A 93 (ggü. Aldi): available again shortly

Marktredwitz – Bahnhofsstraße 14 (Einwohnermeldeamt): Opel Mokka-e (Elektro)

Selb – Ludwigstraße 6 (hinter Rathaus): available again shortly

Wunsiedel – Rot-Kreuz-Str. 1: Renault Trafic (9-seater)

Weißenstadt – Marktplatz: Opel Movano (9-seater)

Kirchenlamitz – Marktplatz 10: Ford Transit (9-seater)

In addition to the very spacious trunk and the removable rear row of seats, the 9-seater models also offer the added bonus of an entry aid, which benefits senior citizens or people with disabilities.

The sponsors’ logos can therefore also be found on the cars.

How can I book a vehicle?

To be able to book a car, interested parties must first register as a user. Registration is free and not only paves the way for booking cars here in the district; registered users can use the app on their cell phone or a special card provided by mikar to access the vehicles in the mikar fleet nationwide. Prerequisites for use: When registering, you must have your driving license checked once and have at least one year’s driving experience.

You can then book the car either via the app or online.
