Fare information on the EgroNet ticket, valid from 11.12.2022
The journey can only be started with a valid ticket. In the event that a ticket office is not open or a ticket machine is not operational at the station of departure, you can purchase your ticket directly from the staff on local trains. As a passenger, you are obliged to inform the train crew of this without being asked.
A surcharge of 2 euros must be paid when purchasing tickets from staff, even when purchasing tickets on DB AG and Erfurter Bahn GmbH trains. If neither a ticket counter is open at the train access point, nor is there an operational machine suitable for accepting cash, the EgroNet ticket will be issued on the train at the regular price.
An EgroNet ticket is valid if the surname and first name of all passengers have been entered in a suitable place on the front or back of the ticket. Passengers must enter this information indelibly in block letters before the start of the journey, immediately after purchase when tickets are sold on the train and immediately after boarding. In the event of ticket inspections, proof of identity must be provided on request by means of an official photo ID. Subsequent changes to the names and/or number of persons entered and/or the day of validity will render an EgroNet ticket invalid. After the start of the journey (for multiple journeys: after the start of the first journey), the exchange of persons is excluded. The person added in the exchange is a traveler without a valid ticket.
With this ticket you can only travel in 2nd class. It is not possible to transfer to 1st class.
The offer is valid within the EgroNet area for the following local trains in Germany: RE, RB, S5, S5x and CB. The train type and train number of the individual trains are listed at the top of the timetable. The ticket is also valid on the bus lines listed here. The EgroNet ticket is not valid for call-and-collect cabs in Bavaria.
In the Czech Republic, the EgroNet ticket is recognized on trains with the abbreviations Os (passenger train), Ex (express train), SP (express train), R (express train) and IC (InterCity train/Pendolino) within the area of validity of the Karlovy Vary region. You cannot purchase tickets with a Czech price imprint in advance. Unused EgroNet tickets will not be taken back, refunded or exchanged.
The EgroNet ticket is a ticket with a significantly reduced fare within the meaning of passenger rights. In all other respects, the provisions of the conditions of carriage of the individual transport companies apply, including for the carriage of bicycles.
